Description



Measurement technology in thermofluid dynamics

The lecture takes place partly online and partly in present tense. It is therefore necessary that the exact number of participants is known. There is only a limited number of participants possible .

In order to plan the lecture, it is therefore essential that the participating students register via ILIAS (> Link) . This way we can inform you directly about dates and other organizational details.

 

 

Contents:

 

  • The current experimental methods of flow, concentration and temperature measurement technology are taught in theory and practice. First, the basics of measuring speed, pressure, density, temperature, heat flow and concentration are explained.
  • Then the methods for measuring these quantities are presented, discussed in terms of accuracy and resolution, and their technical implementation is presented. In particular, the focus is on modern laser-optical measuring methods including digital image processing (LDA, PDA, PIV, LIF, ...).
  • Finally, the methods for further processing and analysis of the measurement data, especially in turbulent flows, are explained.

The students can try out the methods immediately in the combined practical training sessions.
