Clean combustion technology for aircraft engines is a key enabler to reduce the impact of this growth on ecosystems and humans 19 health. The vision for European aviation is shaped by the Advisory Council for Aviation Research and Innovation in Europe in the Flight Path 2050 goals, which define stringent regulations on pollutant emissions. / To meet these goals, the major engine manufacturers develop lean premixed combustors operated at very high pressure.     1CNumerical simulation of wet biomass carbonization in tubular reactors 1D / Biomass Steam Processing (BSP) is a steam assisted slow pyrolysis aims to densify the energy content of lignocellulosic feedstocks through a thermochemical conversion process. Evolution of BSP is the outcome of several years of experimental investigation on different processes and scales. Complexity of the multi-scale nature of biomass feedstock and uncertainty about chemical reactions as well as multiphase flow of educts and products in the reactor make these processes very difficult to be predicted and understood precisely. Development of this process can have a positive influence on the localizing of energy densification plants for biomass residues as an economical alternative energy source.     Das Thema der numerischen Modellierung der partiellen Oxidation von Methan wird am Institut für Verbrennungstechnik in dem folgenden Kontakt wissenschaftlich Untersucht. / Die partielle Oxidation / In der Verbrennungstechnik stellt die partielle Oxidation einen Sonderfall dar. Im Gegensatz zur 1Cklassischen 1C Verbrennungstechnik wird der Einsatzstoff, oder auch Brennstoff, mehrheitlich nicht in Wasser und Kohlenstoffdioxid umgesetzt. Damit der Brennstoff nicht mehrheitlich zu Wasser und Kohlenstoffdioxid reagiert wird der Sauerstoffanteil im umzusetzenden Brennstoff-/Oxidatorgemisch geringer als in einer stöchiometrischen Mischung gehalten. Wird eine solche unterstöchiometrische Mischung aus Methan und Luft, oder alternativ auch reinem Sauerstoff entzündet laufen eine Vielzahl von Teilreaktionen ab.     Innerhalb des von der Europäischen Kommission geförderten Projekts SOPRANO (Soot Processes and Radiation in Aeronautical inNOvative combustors) soll die Rußentstehung moderner Flugzeugtriebwerke untersucht werden. / Im Zuge des Teilprojekts 1EGeneration of a validation data set for complex fuels on semi-technical scale 1D wird hierfür eine Modellbrennkammer aufgebaut um die Rußentstehung bei der Verbrennung von Kerosin zu untersuchen. Die hierbei gewonnenen Ergebnisse sollen innerhalb des Projekts genutzt werden um Modelle zur Rußentstehung zu validieren. / Brennkammer / Die Brennkammer wird nach dem RQL (Rich-Quench-Lean) Prinzip konstruiert. Dies bedeutet, dass zunächst ein fettes Brennstoff-Luft Gemisch verbrannt und anschließend sehr schnell mit reichlich Luft zu einem mageren Gemisch verdünnt wird.
